Knitspiring Story

Jeanne Tufano was recently featured in an article on the Holy Cross Health website titled “After Melanoma, Reconstructive Surgery Helps Restore Jeanne's Quality of Life.”  Jeanne chose the Woolwinders Rockville shop as the location of the photo shoot for the article.  Read Jeanne’s testimonial below which speaks about her connection to knitting and Woolwinders.  We are so happy that Jeanne has conquered her battle with melanoma and has returned to Woolwinders for her weekly Safari class.

" Woolwinders was a large part of my recovery.  The friends I’ve made through Safari and other classes, as well as the staff, helped me deal with the healing process of my physical “deformity”.  Knitting has always been my happy place. Woolwinders has given me a happy place to knit.  Now I have two happy places in one!  I chose Woolwinders to be the place for the centerpiece of my photo shoot because in addition to its being the best LYS in the area, it's also the best place to learn and grow as a knitter and a person."  -- Jeanne Tufano
