Outlaw October - Enter to win a $500 gift certificate!
It's October and we're celebrating the return of cooler weather with a chance to win a $500 gift certificate to WoolWinders Yarn Shop courtesy of Outlaw Yarn. See contest entry guidelines at the end of this post.
Outlaw Yarn from New Zealand produces Bohemia Sport, which is a luscious sport-weight yarn made from 45% Polwarth (that's a breed of sheep - we had to Google it, too), 45% Alpaca and 10% Possum. That's right - brushtail possum! The brushtail possum is a non-native species to New Zealand that threatens the country's endangered bird life.
Outlaw Yarn combines polwarth, alpaca and possum into a buttery yarn takes the extreme softness and warmth of possum and alpaca and combines it with the luster of polwarth. If you're not familiar with possum, this fiber brings a soft halo, but without the itchiness common to mohair or alpaca. It's super warm and pill-resistant.
