June Cashmere started with the vision of J.C. Christensen and his family, owners of Morning Star Fiber, located in North Carolina. In 2007, they met a group of Kyrgyz artisans and became aware of the need for revitalization in the Kyrgyz fiber industry. Shortly thereafter, Christensen connected with Sy Belohlavek from Ohio, who had previously worked in Kyrgyzstan. Belohlavek was drawn toward the idea of working with the Kyrgyz people and revitalizing their fiber industry. In 2010 Belohlavek, with his wife and children, moved to Kyrgyzstan to begin working toward making the the vision of June Cashmere a reality.

On Friday, May 19th WoolWinders Annapolis Opened it's doors! And on Sunday, May 21st we had a Meet n' Greet - and it was so nice to meet you! AND - thank you to all of our Rockville-area peeps who came out to Annapolis for our opening weekend. It was fun, humbling, and a great way to kick off the opening of the sister store. So at this point you know to come and see us during our soft opening the weekend of May 19th... but you now might be wondering what we'll be carrying at WoolWinders Annapolis. Well, we'll be carrying some of your favorite brands that you've come to love at Rockville - as well as some new ones! Check out just some of the products we'll be carrying at the Annapolis shop.
