Description: In this advanced-beginner class, students will create a pair of fingerless gloves (mitts) with a simple fair isle design which is displayed over the fingers and thumb.

Techniques/Skills Learned: Students will learn to read a chart and do colorwork in the round.
Prerequisites for Class: This is an advanced beginners class. Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and how to knit in the round with double pointed needles.
Materials Needed for Class:
Yarn: Sport Weight - 1 hank each of a main color and 2 contrasting colors (3 colors in total)
Size 3 double pointed needles or size to obtain gauge
Pattern: “Sporty Mitts” by Blue Sky Alpacas. Instructor will provide the pattern in class.
Before coming to class, students must cast on 48 stitches with the main color, join in the round and knit 28 rounds. We will begin class at the point in the pattern where the thumb gusset is created and at the same time begin the colorwork charts.
