Description: Learn how to knit warm and cozy, perfect-fitting socks, using a top-down, heel-flap construction and the magic-loop technique for knitting in the round. Students will have a complete, adult-sized sock at the end of the class, with the knowledge and ability necessary to complete many more pairs.

Instructor: Terry Cammack
Techniques/Skills Learned: Top-down, heel-flap sock construction. Magic/traveling loop technique to complete small-diameter knitting projects. Picking up stitches. Seamless toe grafting (Kitchener stitch).
Skill Level: Intermediate - Beginner level skills plus increase, decrease, and follow simple patterns.
Advanced - Intermediate level skills plus yarn over patterns, cables, ribbing, comfortable with pattern interpretation.
Prerequisites for Class: Knitters should be comfortable with reading and following a pattern, working in knit and purl stitch patterns. Previous experience knitting in the round (using either magic loop or double-pointed needles) would be helpful.
Materials Needed for Class:
3 skeins of Coop Knits Socks Yeah! DK - 2 in the main color and 1 in a contrasting color. Or 3 skeins in the same color of any DK weight sock yarn in similar amounts.
Needles: Size US 2 (2.75mm), 40” circular circular needle.
Pattern will be given out in class.
Before first class: Wind your Woolwinders yarn.
Between classes: Students will be expected to complete the leg of the sock before the second class, and the foot of the sock before the third class.
