Description: Celebrate the bounty of the Chesapeake with this adorable crab themed colorwork hat! This unisex hat is a great introduction to colorwork and hat construction. It can be knit in either worsted or fingering weight with both a cap and slouchy version.

Techniques Learned: Colorwork in the round, reading a chart, decreasing in the round.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate - Confident with knitting basics and can increase, decrease, and follow simple patterns.
Prerequisites for Class: You should be able to knit following a pattern and familiar with working in the round.
Materials Needed for Class:
Crabby Cap pattern by Wendy Bernard. Purchase on Ravelry.
Worsted version: 125 yards of main color, 60 yards of contrast color.
Needles: 16" size US 6 circular needle and US 6 double point needles.
Fingering version: 250 yards main color, 125 yards of contrast color.
Needles: 16" size US 2 circular needle and US 2 double point needles.
Homework: Work a gauge swatch! Cast on the appropriate number of stitches for your chosen size.
