BACK TO BASICS: A PERFECT FIRST SWEATER!
So better late than never is my motto this month, lol! For Mother's Day this year I told my mom I would knit her a sweater of her choice. Per her specifications, she now has "a simple pink tweed cotton cardigan with pearl buttons,"- -- just a little late. The CASCADE SIERRA QUATTRO yarn was just the ticket and this very simple vanilla top down cardigan pattern made sizing a snap. It literally is a perfect basic first sweater for anyone out there who hasn't tried her hand at knitting a sweater yet. The beauty of the project: Mom gets a new sweater and it will hopefully inspire others to take the next adventurous step in their knitting journey and realize that we mean it when we say you can literally knit almost any sweater you want with the yarn of our your choice as long as you are willing to take the time to understand gauge. If you add, subtract, multiply and divide you can understand gauge! Even the math-challenged like me:) Happy knitting, friends!
