Thank goodness you don’t. Thanks for coming out yesterday and stocking up on new project materials. You will be rewarded for upholding the “New Project Blizzard Rule.” But not today. In the spirit of massive closures everywhere, we will be CLOSED today and SATURDAY. Sunday will depend on plowing and conditions.

Stay home and stay safe. We will make this up to you, we promise.

Did you know that there is a hard and fast rule about KNITTING DURING A BLIZZARD? Really. It’s as firm as the “BOYFRIEND SWEATER” Rule. That is, you are NEVER to work on something from your stash during a storem.. No. You must begin a TOTALLY NEW PROJECT to honor the weather gods!

And we are here to help. We have lots of new spring yarns and patterns, and some fabulous FREE programs coming up. And we are open until 8 PM tonight. So come by and grab your new BLIZZARD PROJECT. We’ll show you ours. It will come out fabulously!

Well, we begin February with a fervent prayer that the retail gods will not be angered once again and cause us to close. Because we have GREAT FREE programs planned.

On Saturday, we begin the FEBRUARY LADY SWEATER. We confess, we didn’t know much about this, but imagine our surprise when we really checked out the pattern and fell in love with its design AND construction. And it’s on WORSTED WEIGHT YARN. And it can be done in winter or spring yarns. AND it is top down. So yay!!!

We have some spots open for the program, which will run (fingers crossed) every SATURDAY in February from 2-4 pm. Just give us a call to save a spot at the table for you.

And on SUNDAY, our rescheduled SNOWBOARD HAT program will run from 2-4 pm. Again, this is free. Since it looks like winter will last for a while (even the groundhog saw his shadow yesterday!), you will get great use of this uber-warm hat. The program is filled; if you have signed up please beg, borrow, or steal 16” size 15 needles. We are completely out and hope that’s because all of you bought them. We do have plenty of yarn to choose from. We do have some size 13s so if you can knit loosely you should be ok.

We can’t wait for these programs, and hope you are excited too!

We have decided to close today, largely due to road conditions. We don’t want anyone to get hurt in an effort to buy yarn! So here’s what we are going to do. First off, if you signed up for the ENTRELAC class, we will either refund your money or give you a store credit for a rescheduled class in the spring. Just call the store this week to let us know what you want to do.

Second, we are going to PUSH all the SUNDAYS IN THE SALON ahead one week. So we will do the SNOWBOARD HAT next Sunday, the FELTED SLIPPERS on Feb. 14 and so forth. We will have our lovely webmistress STACY, who lives in sunny Florida, to take care of changing the schedule. We hope your schedule allows for some flexibility.

Everyone stay safe today. We are going to finish our CITRON shawl out of MALABRIGO SOCK yarn and begin a lovely scarf out of their SILK MERINO (ooh, we see a spring program here!).
