Yeah, neither are we. We could care less. But we ARE ready for a SUPERBOWL SALE. When we first moved here, someone was kind (and foolish enough) to invite us to participate in a fantasy baseball league. Knowing virtually nothing about the sport, we selected our players based on the names of ex-boyfriends. We came in dead last. So we will take that lack of knowledge (and interest) and hold a sale based on the TEAM COLORS of the Superbowl players. So tomorrow, watch the playoffs and root for the teams that wear your faves.

While we wait for TWO GIGANTIC ORDERS to come in next week (hint, they rhyme with “goin” and “masquerade”), we will keep you busy with our weekend programs. Still plenty of yarn in the shop to do these projects!

We continue to work on our AFGHAN SQUARES with PAIGE on Saturday from 2-4. People are making incredible progress and yes, we do have a few new FAIR ISLE FANATICS.

And on Sunday, the long awaited “EVEN COWL-GIRLS GET THE BLUES.” We are featuring myriad cowl patterns and models from which to choose. We are not particularly fashion forward, but we ARE lazy, and our laziness led us to cowls because they are WAY faster than scarves. Who knew they were going to be THE accessory of 2010??? The program is FREE, will run from 2-4 PM and will feature knitting in the round and lace knitting. We have lots of beautiful choices for yarn including the MALABRIGO which seems to be flying off its racks. So just give us a call to save your spot at the table. We only have a few spaces left. Most of the patterns call for DK or worsted weight yarns, so bring your 16” circular needles in sizes 6-9.

We are beyond excited about our new vendor at the shop: MALABRIGO!!!! We thought this was the perfect time to introduce this beautiful kettle-dyed line from Uruguay. Everyone seems to have a bit of the winter doldrums and needs a bit of inspiration. How’s this?

This beauty ( a free pattern from www.knitty.com) calls for MALABRIGO LACE; we are working in up in the SOCK yarn. It’s just gorgeous. And FLO did it in lace. So we have lots of options because we have, in stock, LACE, SOCK and MERINO/SILK from Malabrigo. The colorways are extraordinary, the yarns are…yummy…and the price is spectacular.
