In addition to being really cute, they are incredibly useful as they both mark your pattern stitches and cascade down your work. We took a few pictures adn hope to have them on the website tonight. But in the meantime, if you are looking for a cute addition to any knitter’s Easter basket, Passover table, or Mother’s Day haul, come on in and check these out!

We GOT Malabrigo. A big box just arrived filled with three of their luscious yarns: LACE, SOCK, and MERINO/SILK. We LOVE these yarns. We just finished CITRON, which called for just one skein of the LACE. You can also use one skein of sock yarn if you prefer. Look for a SUNDAY IN THE SALON featuring this pattern on April 11:

And two reminders. First, tomorrow is the deadline for ordering the ADDI CLICK sets in either turbo or lace. Just call the shop with a credit card to hold your special order. We will be calling them in on Thursday. And please remember we are CLOSED this Sunday for Easter.

We couldn’t resist. Our favorite Worsted Weight Merino, KARABELLA AURORA 8, was available in a ton of colors and we took it. We LOVE this yarn. It’s pure merino wool, soft and yummy as can be, and comes in a beautiful clear palette. So if you want to ensure that your sweater, jacket, or coat (check out the lace one we made from it!) is ready for fall, you can get started NOW! It’s a 4-5 stitches/inch on a 7-8 needle—perfect for so many great patterns.

And we would be remiss if we didn’t give a shout out to our wonderful staff. We have been sick since last Thursday and they really stepped up to the plate to make sure we didn’t miss a beat. Thanks to the best retail staff around. You ladies ROCK!!!!

Spring is officially here and our weekend programs reflect that! Join us SATURDAY from 2-4 as we continue to work on our lovely LAUREL SHAWL/SHRUGIGAN. These are just beautiful and are geared to both beginners (SHRUGIGAN) and advanced (SHAWL) knitters. We have restocked the yarn and have plenty of colors at the shop.

On Sunday, the fabulous KERRY, aka QUEEN OF ALL THINGS FELTED, will lead our SALON program: SPRING CROCUS TOTE. This bag is gorgeous! We will have the patterns on hand for purchase and we have some lovely spring colors of CASCADE 220 for your felting pleasure. You will need 5 skeins for the main color, 3 for the contrast, and scraps for the flowers and leaves (we can all share!) While you will make great progress on the tote, Kerry expects that the program will need more than one session to go over the flowered embellishments and finishing, so you can bring your bag to the shop NEXT SATURDAY, APRIL 3 as well. Note that we are closed on Sunday the 4th for Easter.

Bring along your circular needles in 24” length in 11s or 13s for the FREE program on Sunday. And we recommend that you purchase your yarn ahead of time so you can wind it before the program starts at 2.

We just got word from the lovely folks at SKACEL that their ADDI CLICK needle set is now available in LACE. Sharper tips, lighter cords, AND interchangeable cords that come in 16,20, 24, 32, and 40” lengths! Needle sizes range from 4-11.

We know that our MANOS bins were looking a bit picked over and remedied that last week with a ginormous order. We have many colors in stock and are awaiting still more. Afghans anyone?

Also back in stock, the uber-popular SCHAEFER SUSAN in all its lusciousness, as well as some new colors of CASCADE LUNA, easily the most popular new yarn of spring 2010! And our friends at Westminster Fibers came through with some reorders of ROWAN SUMMER TWEED and spring books. That should take us through the spring—believe it or not we start thinking about FALL YARNS in APRIL!!!!!

We know we usually post on Thursdays, but we thought this Sunday’s program was so cute that we couldn’t wait. We all want to knit that ORIGINAL, WISH I HAD THOUGHT OF THAT gift and with so many things coming up in spring and summer (weddings, mother’s day, kids’ first apartments….) we think we have found the perfect one.

If you haven’t clicked on the SPRING CLASS tab or read our newsletter yet, you might want to know about a few ONE SESSION classes we have scheduled for spring. They came about as a result of customer requests and we have already received some registration phone calls.

First one up is the rescheduled ENTRELAC class to be held on Sunday, April 18 from 10 am-noon.

Next is CAST ON METHODS, which will be held on Sunday, April 25 from 10-noon.

And finally, CONTINENTAL KNITTING is scheduled for Sunday, June 6 from 10-noon.

Each class is $35. There are full descriptions of the classes under the Classes tab-check them out. KATHY CEA is the instructor for each of these, and if you haven’t taken a class with Kathy, you are in for a treat. If you have, you know that we are telling the truth!
